Just a few years ago when you said "Smart Phone" people thought of the iPhone and Blackberry. Everything else was pretty dismal by comparison. HTC? Who ever heard of them? Let alone what is becoming one of the most beloved phones in the marketplace the EVO 4G?

Times have changed though. And if you don't fall in love with the EVO, then I've definitely failed to do it justice! With it's smoking fast processor running the latest Android software, the HTC EVO 4G rivals any other smart phone available today. Consider it's capabilities:

The HTC EVO 4G Android is one of the best selling cell phones on the market today.

Possibly the most attractive feature of this phone is it's large, beautiful 4.3 inch display and a built-in kickstand for easy viewing of videos. You'll be able to view Sprint TV programming to HD movies.

Its 1 GHz processor and Google Android 2.2 operating system this phone is very fast. (The device is built to upgrade to future versions of Android in an easy fashion.)

The HTC EVO 4G comes integrated with Google technology with one-touch connection to Google mobile services like voice search, Picasa and Youtube. With an HTC EVO 4G one can also easily access both personal and corporate email, calendars, and contacts supported by Exchange Server and Gmail.

Here are some Pros and Cons about the HTC EVO 4g Android phone based on user comments:

Pros:

  • Users report that where 4G is available, fast speeds are delivered as promised.
  • The Camera utility has flash capabilities and offers good to very good picture quality.
  • A forward facing camera port allows for video conference calls.
  • Lightweight with streamlined design.

The HTC EVO 4G is available for use exclusively on the Sprint network. So what's so great about 4G?

As far as average download speeds go, at 4G, data downloads at a speed of 3-6 Mbps. On 3G networks, data downloads at a rate of 600Kbps - 1.4 Mbps. Peak download speeds for 4G are 10 Mbps compared to a maximum of 3.1 Mbps.

Here are the download limits...With Sprint you receive all you can stream, browse, email, chat, watch and game on the 4G network compared to a 5GB limit monthly on 3G.

Unfortunately, 4G service is not available everywhere. If you're travelling in an area without 4G, then your phone automatically connects with the existing network at it's highest available speed.
